 It's finished! WHOO-HAH! And on my birthday, too. How...gratifying.This is my entry to *Zuko-Katara's Emotional Theme contest. The main suggestion was "Mourning over another's loss where you're left with a broken heart is probably one of the biggest impacts for any one to endure..." I took it from a differeny light than normal, though. It's not mourning over your losing another, but mourning over what another has lost. ----- Katara stifles tears as the reality of what has happened to the Fire Nation Prince at last reaches her heart. "Your own Father...?" she murmurs, brow creasing. To have someone he loved do such a horrible thing, it's enough to bring a lump to her throat and makes her entire body shake with imagined pain. "Oh, Zuko..." She holds him then, and at that moment Zuko recalls what the waterbender told him about her own loss--how her mother was torn away from her, both by enemy and family. The thought of her brother dragging her away while a firebender threatens one she loves is so painful that, for the first time, Zuko holds her in return. ----- And that is my entry! Hope you all like it, and the sappy little drabble that goes with it!  I hope it wasn't too saccharine...Did anyone notice the reversal of clothing styles? Katara's dressed like Fire Nation and Zuko's dressed like Water Tribe. No reason aside from the fact that I think Zuko looks dead sexy in blue. |
